Photographs from in and around Cordova, Ak, July 2019.
In the summer of 2019 I traveled to Cordova, Alaska, with University of Oregon faculty members Dan and Deb Morrison and a team of Science & Memory storytellers to report on how people and ecosystems are adapting to climate change.
The project I set out to do involved traveling up the Copper River to a remote camp where fish biologists monitor the salmon fishery. You can read about how the record high summer temperatures led to this project being canceled in my essay Climate Change Ruined My Climate Science Project.
